About Artist

Sandeep Soni
Artist | Graphic Designer | Petroleum Engineer

Artist, graphic designer, and hobbyist with a professional career as a petroleum engineer in the oil and gas industry.

Sandeep Soni is a multidisciplinary artist, graphic and fashion designer, and a professional petroleum engineer whose practice bridges the analytical precision of science with the boundless expression of art. His academic portfolio reflects this duality, holding an MBA and MS in Business Analytics from the University of Massachusetts, USA, an MSc in Petroleum Engineering from Heriot-Watt University, UK, and a B.Tech from IIT, India.

While deeply rooted in science, physics, and technology, Sandeep has consistently positioned art as a parallel force in his life—one that informs, disrupts, and elevates his professional and creative thinking. For him, art is not a discipline but a lived philosophy.

His artistic language is shaped by surrealism, expressionism, and contemporary abstraction. Working across oil, acrylic, and mixed media, he interprets life in its human, natural, and cosmic dimensions, translating complex ideas into immersive visual narratives. His work draws influence from engineering, architecture, philosophy, yoga, and meditation—often channeling a dreamlike state that blurs the boundary between structure and imagination.

Sandeep’s compositions explore themes of storytelling, intellect, emotion, and love, resulting in dynamic, fluid works that invite deeper introspection. He is particularly drawn to large-scale formats, from expansive canvases to wall-based works, and is recognized for creating personalized, accessible art that resonates with diverse audiences.

Beyond painting, his creative ecosystem spans music—playing guitar and ukulele—alongside graphic design, video editing, origami, photography, cooking, travel, and literature. This holistic engagement with creativity reinforces his belief in art as an omnipresent force.

Grounded in a disciplined practice of yoga and meditation, Sandeep embraces an intuitive creative process, guided by the philosophy of “letting the art happen” without restraint. His guiding ethos, “Balance in the Chaos,” reflects a pursuit of harmony within complexity—capturing fleeting yet profound moments that define the human experience.

Artist Statement

"For me, art transcends color—it is existence itself. It is the force that continuously constructs and deconstructs every moment. Art is always in motion; it existed before us and will continue long after we are gone.

In the physical realm, we encounter it in fragments—painting, music, poetry, cooking, sport, yoga, meditation—everything and nothing at once. This is the foundation of my philosophy: letting the art happen. Allowing creation to unfold without force or control.

I am in a constant state of learning, drawing insight from everything and everyone, a process that will continue throughout my lifetime. What fascinates me is the discovery of balance within chaos—the interplay between form and spontaneity, the dynamism of the formless, and the stillness that exists within motion. That is art to me.

It is in this space that the mind and soul converge—where they move, resonate, and exist in harmony.

My practice is rooted in observation, exploration, and experimentation. The true fulfillment lies not in the final outcome, but in the journey itself. I seek to immerse myself deeper into this process, embracing each moment fully, without attachment to results.

Carpe Diem. Let the art happen."
